Miami best of beach life!

Your Ultimate Guide to Miami Neighbourhoods, Beaches and Restaurants

I love Miami. I think everyone can agree that there are so many things to do in Miami beyond lounging on the sand, though spending some time on the beach is fundamental. Especially in the wintertime, Miami is better known for its prosperous cultural scene led by events like Art Basel and neighbourhoods such as Wynwood, which every year turns over a brand new facade of fresh murals. And of course, I can’t miss one of the most crucial aspects of the city, the iconic and insanely booming culinary scene… Miami hosts many award-winning restaurants that you wouldn’t want to miss.

Sunshine State here I come!

Places to visit:

From art performances to iconic galleries and museums, Miami is a world-class destination.

Wynwood

Wynwood is the very first outdoor museum in Miami. If you like street art, this district is dedicated to graffiti art with murals painted by renowned artists around the world. These groundbreaking Walls are the unquestioned selfie capital of Miami. In the Wynwood Arts District, works by groundbreaking artists can be seen throughout the neighbourhood and at Wynwood Walls. In Downtown Miami, the Pérez Art Museum Miami is a must-visit. I was amazed by its impressive collection of contemporary art from the Americas, as well as by its architecture by Herzog & de Meuron.

Coral gables

Coral gables feature remarkable Mediterranean Revival architecture complemented by plazas, parks and fountains. In Giralda Plaza you’ll find local boutiques, restaurants and art galleries, it’s the perfect area for a stroll. From shopping avenues to delicious global cuisine and a thriving local culture scene, Coral Gables is a destination you’ll want to explore.

Coconut Grove

No surprises over here, of course, Coconut Grove is such a classic Miami and it deserves to be. It’s the number one attraction place, a surreal Italian Renaissance-style villa in the middle of lush, laid-back Coconut Grove. Its diligently landscaped gardens, bayfront terrace and the house itself, make up a total of 43 acres.

Best beaches:

Well, you can’t visit Miami without sunbathing, surfing, or swimming on the beach.

  • South Beach: One of the world-famous beaches, it's my favourite. It’s hard to imagine Miami without visions of South Beach’s turquoise-blue waves lapping against the white sand. This legendary beach runs from the southern tip of the island to 23rd Street.

  • Surfside: This beach is Miami’s Uptown Beach Town. It has a retro small-town appeal where a day on the sand can sometimes feel like you’re on a private beach.

  • Sunny Isles beach: This clean and uncrowded three kilometres stretch of sand reaches of Miami Beach is lined with towering residential condominiums. Sunny Isles Beach is ideal for families.

Now, who’s ready to dig in?

  • Cecconi: This Italian restaurant's popularity hasn’t waned. It's the only public offering inside the exclusive Soho Beach House. The ambience, cocktails, and delicious fresh Italian food is just perfect.

  • Le Zoo: This adorable French bistro is inside a Ball Harbour Shops, but you’d never tell based on its lovely string lights and overall chic decor.

  • CVI.CHE 105: The twelve-year award-winning Peruvian restaurant is insanely delicious.

  • Bulla: This Spanish restaurant is just incredibly known with its delicious tapas, paellas and more. I specifically enjoyed their ambiance at Coral Gables.

  • Cote: This posh, upscale restaurant brings a new level of dining experience to Miami, with a high-end menu that’s still got plenty of heart.

  • Bianca Gelato: Offers the best high-end Italian gelato.

  • Carpaccio: The Italian restaurant is a favourite destination of choice for celebrities and socialites.

Stay tuned for more cities and neighbourhoods :)
